Wandering on top of Mauna Kea, Hawaii

Walking around the summit of Mauna Kea, which stands at 13 796ft above sea level on Big Island. Since we slept at sea level the previous night, getting on top of the volcano made for quite an abrupt altitude change.

Getting really wet by crossing a pond in the Narrows of Zion National Park. This pond was located not very far from the entrance of the Wall Street area of the Narrows. Needless to say, I was glad I had a warm layer to put on afterwards...

Backpacking in the Zion Narrows, Zion National Park

Another couple of backpackers that we crossed on our way during the first day of our 2 days hike in the Narrows of Zion National Park. This photograph was taken at the point where the walls of the canyon start getting really tall and impressive, which is about 2 to 3 hours after Chamberlain's ranch.

Hiking through the Zion Narrows, Zion National Park

Hiking the Narrows is a humbling experience. You sometimes have the impression that you could get crushed under falling boulder in a snap. The Wall Street area of the Narrows is just beyond this passage.
