While driving home from an off-road trip a pretty fast storm system overtook us, it was a real visual treat to see the oddly colored dark cloud cover overhead contrasting with the golden rays of the setting sun.
Guess what? Stopping for the last picture of the days was a given.

Every year I’m in Curacao for Christmas I make sure I shoot a picture of the famous Handelskade quay on Christmas Eve. (Earlier versions can be seen at flic.kr/p/7uhcPy and flic.kr/p/9rTP3k) This year I chose to upload a monochrome version of a very long exposure just as the sun was setting.

Cupecoy Beach is one of the most photogenic beaches on Sint Maarten. This is a beach I could go back to so many times with a camera. On this visit I stumbled onto a fish shaped rock on the beach. The shape of the rock drew me so much I had to include it in my final composition, look for it in the lower left corner.

This image will be dropped at the printer tomorrow for a 51 inch wide custom order.
