somehow, i feel like i can't post pictures of jewelry on flickr unless i have a big pile of it. but then again, lately, somehow i haven't felt like i've had a pile of it.... until today i gave it a gander, and WHOA! i guess i do have a heap!
right here are a few necklaces - my obsession with mid-winter color has continued with voracious appetites, and i can't stop stringing beads! thankfully (or not?) i've run out of string, so it's back to silver chain for a little bit....

~ antarctica necklace - amazonite
~ sea shore necklace - peach moonstone (oooooh!)
~ minaret necklace - carnelian
~ little button necklace - abalone, sewn with silk thread

i'll be parachuting these (and other!) lovelies this afternoon and tomorrow - keep your eye on the sky!

escape pod necklaces

escape pod necklaces

these are hollow-formed cylinders, each hanging from an opera-length chain, about the solar plexus.
each is set with a stone on the bottom: chrysoprase, larimar, rose-cut pink amethyst, and a green amethyst bullet.

um, yeah.
so i'm a little obsessed.

you are looking at fourteen single strands of glass seed beads, ordered into warp-and-weft patterns of color, each single bead strung after the next.
a colorful rope of glass to layer with other necklaces, a tribal adornment, simple and complex at the same time.
they are sturdy and road-worthy, something you can wear traveling through the back alleys of bangladesh, snorkeling in cuba, or skiing the swiss alps! i've worn several of these over the years, and i've found that it's easy to become attached to a particular pattern of beads, the order and abandon, the familiarity of them against your skin.
vive le bead!
