Giant Fire Jay

Giant Fire Jay

This is a composite (surprise, surprise), I put together from a fisheye shot and a wet grey jay (whiskeyjack) shot I took a year or so ago on a trip to Woody Island. It was put together for an "Altered Reality" competition for the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts that closed today. Be interesting to see how it does against national competition...

The Edge of the World

The Edge of the World

With an Opteka 6.5mm f/3.5 fisheye lens @ f/11

From the highest point of Signal Hill - overlooking the parking lot. The temp was -8C with strong winds, so a few mins up there was enough, thank you very much :)

The point of land to the far left is Cape Spear - the most easterly point of land in North America, so this is actually the edge of the NEW world :)

Hairpin and Mackerel Sky

Hairpin and Mackerel Sky

Signal Hill and St. John's, Newfoundland, taken with a 6.5mm fisheye lens on an APS-C camera. I tried this with a 10-20 @10mm and it just didn't work at all.
