“Too bad you can't buy a voodoo globe so that you could make the earth spin real fast and freak everybody out.” -- Jack Handy
Long exposure + spin -- liked this effect

Please give me a clue - what did you spin to produce this cool effect?
Jeremy Stockwell 60 months ago | reply
@kg.owl -- the camera.
*Set for 1/8 second exposure
*Pointed it up at some trees/sky
*Tried to spin the body of the camera around the barrel of the lens (let me know if that doesn't make any sense)
*Hit the shutter release during the spin. Voila!
This one is a lot easier than the whole relative zoom thing mentioned elsewhere -- and again, not crazy long shutter speeds either -- should be OK to hand hold.
With the blues and greens, it took on the appearance (to me) of a spinning globe, thus the title.

I can imagine now how you did it, still I don't understand it. I'll go outside right now and try it myself.
