Ha! I just read on Twitter that they're prohibiting photos of their
booth and I just knew I'd find a photo of it
posted on Flickr. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, wow, seems like there was a lot going
on at the google booth, bottled water and
laptops no less, and a logo, phew.

What didn't they want you to see?
That they use inflated condoms for walls.

I took a video and photos. I tried to get
them to yell at me, but they didn't say a
word.
When I asked, "What are you
demoing?" They said,
"AdWords".
No one even heard of AppEngine. WT Fuck?

You've just fallen for the oldest PR trick in
the book. "DON'T TAKE A PICTURE"
gets everyone taking pictures. And talking.
And blogging. And twittering.
Free publicity! People will then go to the
booth to see what all of the fuss is about.

Maybe they knew you were going to post to
flickr instead of Picasa? ;-)
Don't you love how people never
communicate, and they are just the messenger
for their "policy"?

At a public event, on what authority are they
"prohibiting" photos?

Hey... speaking as a Googler here, I've
confirmed with the powers that be that this
shouldn't have happened. One of my colleagues
already chatted with Scott and apologized. I
don't expect we'll make this mistake again.

so let me get this straight, you're one of
the most powerful companies on earth, and
your trade show booth looks like you've
disemboweled the michelin man?
it's like bill gates' hair. i don't get
it.

The booth was too small for a company as big
as Google, so that's why they probably didn't
want pictures to be taken. They were ashamed
of the booth's size. :D

I took one and they didn't say anything,
maybe they're embarrassed that they have
nothing to show:

If I had a tacky booth from Planet 1982, I'd
probably not want any pictures of me taken in
it, either.

WOW!!!!!! what a great marketing stunt from
Google, how easy is it to create rumor around
the brand, by using the simple principle of
live, "everything which isnt aloud you
do the opposite"
