Salt Lake Temple Christmas 2008![]() Last night I headed to Temple Square again for some photography, this time with some neighbors I was introducing to the concept of photowalking and some dSLR training. Jan 1 was the last day the Christmas lights are lit, so it was our last chance to get in some good time with our cameras and make some holiday images.
I often get asked why I return to the same place to take photos, especially when I was just there recently. Aside from the fact that I just plain enjoy the photographing experience, I find exploring for new angles and compositions pushes me to new creative levels. Even when I retake the exact same scene I have shot before, I find I can look for new exposure techniques and strive to better understand how to much my camera to take better images. I continue to really enjoy my new 5DMkii and its amazing low light capability as well as incredible silky smooth images with 21MP of detail. We had a great time, and my friends all sounded hooked on the photowalk experience. Some of the newer ones experienced their first foray into Manual mode on their camera, and their eyes were opened to all new possibilities. I'm always happy to find new friends to share in my passion for photography and striving to get better at it! Commentsjrbechthold
