Mirror Mirror on the wall...

Very cool and very creative. I like this alot. I would without a doubt straighten this though :)
Mirror Mirror on the wall... by JeremyHall.
A week ago I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding, something I haven't done in awhile. I don't really avoid weddings, but I also don't try and chase them down. It was fun to get back into the swing of photographing such a special event.

This image was captured as I wandered the reception capturing as many various candids as I could see. While scoping out various angles of the reception line, I noticed if I took the right angle, I could catch the bride and groom in the mirror's reflection above the wedding cake. I camped out my spot for a bit until the moment I was looking for happened. As are most newlyweds, this bride and groom kissed often, so I didn't have to wait all that long.

The lighting was extremely low at the reception, and with a heavy yellow glow. Most of the images ended up looking better converted to b&w in my judgment.

I think this would be lovely in color. The yellow will give it a romantic glow.

it is a terrific one in B &W, terrific to have taken the couple kissing in the mirror. Thi shot remind me the pictures of wedding concerning our grandparents, it was the fashion to put the picture in a frame with this form. It is why my eyes were caught by it and it is why it is right to have done it in B&W sorry for my comment, it is hard in English (smile).

Hey Jeremy....I am with you on the weddings, I have done them as well but don't seek them out with any vigor. I like the approach you have taken here, creative and this is what sets you apart from traditionalists, and more folks are looking for your approach in wedding photography. Weddings can be fun especially with digital and the untold creative processing opportunities....I can't say the same for the days of film, I had a couple horror stories several years back....lol

Jeremy...that's wondering...and especially in b&w!
I just got married in November, our reception/party room actually had a deep mustardy yellow wall, so most of our photos are converted to b&w, too (and, for the same reason)....I would never have asked for most of my wedding photos in b&w, but I'm THRILLED that most of them are! (except, we HAD to get a color shot of my red boots!)

We are so pleased with our photos.....candids like this one really make the wedding album special!

How lucky they are to have had you as a photographer.
I know from recent experience...it was REALLY nice not worrying about the photos....letting someone else think about them for a change!

You did a great, great job for this couple! (and, yes, I can say that with absolute confidence having seen just one photo of them!)

p.s. we kissed a lot on our wedding day, too......I'm not sure my husband realized it until he saw the photos.....and, in every other image, we're kissing! (which, I LOVE!)
