Cool concept and beautiful simplicity!

I hated it when my tapes would do that, but this is a clever photo my dear.

Whatever it is you are singing, Robert, I just lost my desire to hear it, LOL.
I don't know that I have a favorite song. It is hard enough for me to choose my 50 favorite albums. OCD people have a hard time making choices.
I think one of the greatest songs of all time, though, is "We've Only Just Begun" written by Paul Williams and sung by the Carpenters. And I am not being biased because I know him. I liked the song a long time before I first met him.
DecoByDesign (58 months ago | reply)
Another Carpenters song - Superstar. But as performed by Bette Midler.
daruma* (58 months ago | reply)
So, so many but try this one - Tom Waits Kentucky Avenue. Just wait for when the strings come in and feel the goose bumps arrive.

Jenni, this photo is so elegant in its simplicity. I love it.
But as to your question about my favorite song, that is a more difficult thing to answer. I can't even make a mix CD without including 50 songs because I can't pare it down. I suppose if I was pressed to answer the question to the best of my ability my top five, at this moment in time, off the top of my head ,no particular order...
1. Transatlanticism---Death Cab for Cutie
2.Youth and Beauty Brigade/California One---The Decemberists
3.Three Days---Jane's Addiction
4.Walla Walla/Moving Like Water---Sky Cries Mary
5.Myriad Harbours---The New Pornographers
Oh God! How could I not include Eleni Mandell, of course I can't pick just one from her but if I can get everyone turned on to her I feel like I have helped make the world a better place.
Check out Dis-moi Au Revoir Encore by Eleni Mandell. I think you will love it.
This is Eleni Mandell, I took this picture last year at the Kansas City Crossroads Music Festival.

What a fun picture! Not in a million years could I ever pick one favorite song - after all, I loooove music!! Jazz, classical, 70s rock! But if I had to pick, I'd pick "Give Me Jesus" sung by Fernando Ortega. It's such a moving song with beautiful piano progression, cello and guitar. It brings tears to my eyes EVERY time!!
J*DAWSON... (58 months ago | reply)
Zoë and Zelda's duet....." We Haven't Had Our Dinner And Your Moving Kinda Slow".........

My favorite song of all time is Hiding Underwater by Beth Hart, you should definitely check it out!
Olga_Greece (58 months ago | reply)
That is one of the hardest questions ever! I like a diverse bunch of musicians, from Massive attack to the Gorillas- just some random names- and I could never pick a fave. If it helps, the last time a piece of music caught my ear :) was when I saw Juno, I liked the entire soundtrack.
And finally.... awesome pic!!!
Dylan_Murphy (58 months ago | reply)
I don't know if I can just pick one favorite song!
anything by Anthony Green or Circa Survive

(this specific recording at their last show in the Iceland tour)
and a song my mother used to play for me on guitar... ahh.. sad memories.

What a lovely shot, such a great idea. :)
I can't imagine what my favourite song would be, there are so many and they are so different. I asked my husband what my favourite song is and he said the same thing! :)
JenniPenni (58 months ago | reply)
Thanks so much, everyone. I've honestly had a great time listening to these.
I never used to like Sigur Rós before but once I actually started to listen to their songs a few weeks ago I've fallen head over heals with them. It's strange, I've always felt strange about that genre and didn't get why people like that band so SO much. The videos are something else as well, no doubt about that.
