Raspberry Latte

Raspberry Latte

I betrayed my beloved Starbucks after i was promised a free Peets... I gotta say, they made a pretty good raspberry latte. I'm starting to really warm up to the Fujifilm X100. It is so light and easy to carry around, stick in your purse, or just to have on hand at all times when you aren't able to bring the DSLR. This camera is really becoming a near and dear part of the collection, and I soooooo happy that Doug keeps letting me play with it. I did get him a free coffee, in all fairness.

Vintage.

Vintage.

Doug decided to take advantage of a good Craigslist deal and got himself a Fujifilm X100. The perks of being Doug's girlfriend: he's nice enough to share! It really is a beautiful camera. Very compact and lightweight, not complicated, and makes for very fun mindless shooting. Of course it has its flaws, but for a camera that you can tote around super easily when you don't want to lug the 5D with all of its lenses around town, it gets the job done. And WOW is it a very pretty looking camera. I love the retro look. Doug got it with the leather case...quite a steal.

I liked this photo because it makes my hips look super big. I was leaning back to see the liveview, but I ended up looking like an oompa loompa

Last Leaf's Shadow in the Morning Light.

Last Leaf's Shadow in the Morning Light.

Doug decided to take advantage of a good Craigslist deal and got himself a Fujifilm X100. The perks of being Doug's girlfriend: he's nice enough to share! we went on a little walk this morning so he could get familiar with the camera. I was testing the macro function. This leaf was pretty tiny laying on a discarded garage sale sign. I liked the way the shadows from the fence and leaf interacted with the writing on the cardboard. Overall, I'm pretty impressed. This little camera gets pretty sharp. Took a couple of tries for the autofocus to get it right, but I liked the end result.

The Floating Pomegranate

The Floating Pomegranate

The perks of being Doug's girlfriend: he's nice enough to share! we went on a little walk this morning so he could get familiar with the camera. I was testing the macro function. This pomegranate was pretty small... less than 2 inches around. It was one of the last ones on the tree, So i tried to get it sharp. It was too high up for me to look at what I was focusing on, but after a couple of blind reaches I got this shot. Not as sharp as I'd like, but once again the autofocus on the X100 isn't totally fantastic and this was a round object.

The perks of being Doug's girlfriend: he's nice enough to share! we went on a little walk this morning so he could get familiar with the camera. I was testing the macro function. This one was mainly to see how small of an object I could get focus on with the X100. These little flowers are tiny. No, this isn't as sharp or as close-up I can get with my macro lens on a dslr, but for this tiny little camera, I'm pretty impressed. It really makes the background so creamy and pretty, I was really pleased.
