I'm not very good at it, but am going to give it a try for a while.

It's a great habit, but a hard one for me to stick with. I like your approach, though -- I tend to get really OCD about planning each actual meal, rather than planning in broad strokes and allowing for whatever I might feel like off the list in a given week.

Drew and I are attempting to do this also! It's harder for him because he likes to 'improv' cook, whereas I prefer using recipes. Our plan is to go for planned dinners, and have a variety of things (still healthy of course) that we can choose from for lunch and snacks.

I'm on a mission to lose 20 pounds by July for my 40th....huzzah!

Your list looks a lot like mine. Making note of broad categories means I'm not "locking" myself into making something specific. At the same time it also makes sure that we don't eat the same thing every week and get some variety. Plus helps me know if I need to pick up ingredients or spices at the market.
