People often ask me, "what was the best thing you ate in Vietnam?" It's such a difficult question, but often my mind travels back to this bite -- I think during my second day in Hanoi (and second day in Vietnam). It was pork wrapped in a leaf and grilled. The leaf was either a pepper leaf or a betel leaf. The whole thing was then wrapped in lettuce with condiments.
I am sure it was pork because M was with me and didn't eat it (and had to hear me ramble on about the perfect bite for days afterward). I got this (not very focused) shot before the woman running the stand declared that I could take no more photos. No bother -- I was then able to focus on this delicious bite.
