Kaleidoscope Pop

Kaleidoscope Pop by jem.
This was a Leeds club night in 1986/7/8.
I went here with F a few times. I saw My Bloody Valentine play here once. Bobby Gillespie did DJ here but not on March 22nd as promoted. He, er had to sign on so he couldn't make it.
On the back of the flyer is a letter from Mike Stout (?) who I think promoted this club and managed the Bachelor Pad who I'd put on a few weeks earlier in York supporting Jesse Garon and the Desperadoes. I danced a lot at this club.

I once did a club in Brighton (flyers to follow) called The Apple Orchard where i did indeed put on Bob and (i think) the siddeleys.
We gave out free apples to the frankly undernourished youth who tended to go to these things. My mum used to help me make dreadful cheese sandwiches for the band's "riders".

ah, yes - kaleidoscope pop. I dj'd there several times (badly, i'm sure - but hey! indie ethos of do-it-yourself...). stouty works in tate liverpool now I believe. more of a social club for meeting friends rather than a 'club' - everybody i knew hung out there. good times, good times...
