Neuschwanstein: The Bavarian Castle

We hiked high above the castle for some great photos of Neuschwanstein castle (crazy Ludwig's castle, the inspiration for the Disney castle). I have no idea how high up we are at this point, but the castle looks huge from the *ground*, let alone up here.

Interesting note, we had to leave this cliff trail soon after this photo. The winds were really picking up and a storm was moving in.

This is ~1.5-2 hours of hiking beyond the castle doors.

Fui a trabalho para München e num domingo alugamos um bmw para conhecer este castelo, é fantástico, na verdade ele foi terminado depois da morte do próprio rei Ludwig da Baviera que iniciou o seu projeto, foi deposto e morreu jovem, afogado aos 41 anos em um lago, provavelmente assassinado, uma vez que o seu castelo custou muito sacrifício ao povo e para toda a Bavaria. Neuschwanstein significa "novo cisne de pedra", no outro morro ao lado fica o castelo do seu pai Maximiliano II, muito bonito mas não tão imponente como o castelo de seu filho. É proibido fotografar e filmar dentro do castelo, mesmo porque vendem o filme na saída, como todo bom brasileiro, filmei discretamente. Vale a pena ir conhecer e inclusive acelerar na autoban.
