The Perfect Medicine

The Perfect Medicine

The cure for a little rut in your photography?....buy some new gear!! Okay, that's not really the cure, inspiration from other means should be the real cure, but gear works sometimes too.

So I bought the Nikon 24mm PC-E Tilt/Shift lens last week, and this is the first real image I made with it. I played around in the house for a while trying to remember how to use it properly, then last night went for a little drive. It's still winter here (obviously) and I'm not a cold weather person. I'll be off to Costa Rica in a couple weeks and hope to get some good use out of this lens. I also have some plans for it for this spring/summer.

This is a three image stitch, lens shifted up and down, and also tilted all the way right. No, it's not the "proper" use for this lens, but it's a damn fun image if I do say so myself! I also added the border in Snapseed for Mac.

Winter is on it's way..

Winter is on it's way..

Here is a late October sunrise shot from the Athabasca River. It was a little chilly and there was some ice along the edges of the river, a sure sign that winter is on it's way!
