gwynns falls

soon after i first moved to baltimore, i drove through gwynns falls park on my way somewhere, and thought it was a complete dump. (quite literally -- garbage everywhere, and a reputation as the place where certain people are known to leave bodies as well...) a few years later, i came through and was amazed to see what had been done. several community organizations had gotten together to clean up the park and make it a wonderful place to come to picnic, play, or walk the trail. (the four mile trail winds up the hill at a very gradual slope so that before you know it, you're looking out across a hillside you'd swear was in west virginia instead of in the middle of the city; it's wonderful.)

congrats to everyone who's put so much time and effort into turning this around; it's a great inspiration for the rest of the city to realize the potential we have waiting in our neighborhoods.
