My Notebook Collection

Two chess notebooks for recording games at tournaments.

A baseball notebook, filled with scoresheets.

Before I discovered moleskines, my favorites were these blue lab notebooks (which smell great).

Spiral-bound notebooks are old stand-bys. I still use them when I take classes at the community college, but they're mostly worthless because the spiral binding has become too large over the past decade.

I love these tiny composition books, but I can rarely find them. I need to stock up next time I stumble on them. I use these for recording trips to the gym.

A specialized notebook for loaning books. I've abandoned this in favor of individual library cards. They're more fun.

My wine journal, which I don't keep as faithfully as I ought.

A new type of moleskine, the cahier notebook. I like these quite a bit.

Holy crap, maybe you should meet up with my boyfriend who has a pen fetish. He'll come home from school and I'll say "What's that in your pocket, is that another DAMNNED PEN?!?!" Sometimes when he is feeling low he'll buy a whole box. I feel your pain. If you have too many notebooks, feel free to mail us one or two, we've been writing on the walls just to use these pens up.

I have three of the notebooks in your collection! The book-lending one, a small moleskine and one of those tiny composition books with a black cover. I like using a supersharp pencil to write in the composition book.

I feel reassured that there are other people out there who like to have notebooks! So far, I restrain myself when I see another one I like, because I can never really justify a use for it and I think I must be weird.

Ha! I can certainly identify with this, except being a graphic designer, I not only have lots of notebooks, but I have a huge sketchbook collection as well. Some sketchbooks are new and empty, others are in various stages of completion. Some I bought, others I made myself, just to see if I could via a bookbinding instruction book. Oh, and did I also mention that I'm a pen freak, too? Can't have sketchbooks (or notebooks) without pens! :)

By the way, your Get Rich Slowly blog is great! I read it all the time, which is how I got directed here.

I have that same book loaning book! I was trying to use it to document my book club events as well as loanings of books, but I tend to get dotty and forget most of the time.
