I took this photo of the American flag standing almost directly beneath the flag pole and pointing up so as to catch the sun on the other side of the fabric, which is what provides the washed out color. It was also pretty windy out that day, which made for the beautiful ripples in the flag.

The resulting photo came out very bright/overexposed, super-saturated, and is -- by far -- the single most popular photo in my Flickr photostream.
