First off, it is extremely important you shoot using a tripod, and do not move the camera during the entire sequence.
Once in photoshop, Blending modes are your friend...
I usually set my upper layer to "multiply" (don't quote me on this, you will have to scroll thru all blending modes to see which works best in your situation)
Blending modes can be found in your Layers Pallette to the left of the Opacity Slider.
You will most likely still need to clean up the areas around your subject.
