      scary....it looks so terrible having those apartments stacked row upon row. I used to live in Kowloon as a child back in the 70s. Our apartment "only" had 8 storeys. These are just mind boggling. Ugh!

      Over on the island, there were clusters of these types of apartments. The C&K factory manager lived there. There were 50 towers in one cluster. Each tower had 28 floors. And each floor had 8 apartments. That's just over 11,000 apartments in one cluster!

      You could take the elevator down to the enclosed ground floor and go grocery shopping without going outside. There were other shops. And if you went one floor lower, you could go skating on the ice rink;

      I really like this shot. I'm on holidays in Hong Kong at the moment and haven't found the right spot or angle to replicate it. So much to photograph in this city, however.

      This photo has been modified. Some of the floors have been duplicated/cloned near the bottom to give the illusion of more floors.

      I saw this reblogged on tumblr – without a title. My first thought was, "this looks like Hong Kong."

      Well…lo' and behold.
