4 - Projects Board

Action cards clipped to the project folder. The order they're in pretty much determines the project plan.
4 - Projects Board by jazzmasterson.
My "Projects" list is a homasote board, upon which I pin envelopes that I have labeled with my Brother label printer.

The little envelopes are coin envelopes, which you can buy a pack of 100 of for like $2 at Staples.

I brainstorm by writing all my ideas onto index cards, then rewriting them so they're action items (if necessary -- some mental discipline has worked here, and I've gotten into the swing of always writing my ideas down in the form of lowercase verbs). Then I shuffle them into the proper order so they constitute a plan. One card with the goal on it gets clipped to the front of the envelope (although I'm considering just writing on the envelope, which makes more sense), and the plan goes into the envelope in order, with one exception: the absolute next action.

That card gets stuck onto the Next Actions board or (if it's an errand or something else I can't do right in my studio) put into the proper context Next Actions coin envelope.

I try to write the name of the project in the upper right hand corner of each action card. Sometimes I slip.

Very cool, makes a lot of sense I will be "stealing" this idea & see if I can get it to work for me.

Do you reuse, recycle, or toss these action cards when you're done?

I shred them, and the contents of my paper shredder gets used as litter for our houserabbits' litter box. If we had any space for a garden, we'd use the "used" litter as compost, but as it is we toss it.

I used this photo on a recent blog post about task management (with attribution, of course!).

I scanned around the 'productivity' tagged photos and this one just struck me. I like how tidy it is. :)
