The Green vine snake (Ahaetulla nasuta), is a slender green tree snake found in India
(excluding the northwest; Maharashtra (Nasrapur, Mahabaleshwar,
Koyna), Karnataka (Castle Rock), Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar
(Burma), Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
This snake is mildly venomous and normally feeds on frogs and lizards. The snake is very variable in its coloration. It is usually green but shows black and white stripes by expanding to display the interscale colours when threatened.The species is often mistakenly believed to be pointed nosed so as to blind its victims.
