lighthouse

once a year, they fire up the kerosene-powered fresnel lens at the Pigeon Point lighthouse, and it casts beams of light into the night sky like some maritime disco ball out of the distant past.

I love it! It was my first time there, so I didn't know if I should get up close, or stand way back like you did. I love how you caught that thin cloud way off to the left.Next year, I think I'll stand way back.

wonderful shot John - it looks like you were on the opposite end of the long line of tripods setup by the wire fence along the path leading to the wooden bridge and platform to the southeast of the lighthouse. I would have said hello if I had known you were there. :)
