Osprey!

Pandion haliaetus.

My favorite bird on the Island of Sanibel in Florida. This Osprey and its family are well known and much loved in the city of Sanibel. It lives with its family at the edge of the island, overlooking the sea, on a tall man-made perch adjacent to a picturesque lighthouse. You can see the perch in another one of my photos here.

This photo was taken just after sunrise, at about 6:00 AM.
