Crude Awakening just after sunrise at Burning Man 2007. The tower, with stairs that climbed 90 feet high, was burned in a huge explosion shortly after the project's completion. The figures in silhouettes are large metal statues welded from scrap metal and symbolize the world's major religions. The black specks on the horizon are people, and the blocks are trucks brought in by the artists building the installation.
