While the Wampum chips might be the neatest chip bags in the collection I recently picked up, this Doritos bag was the one that got the most of my attention.
Growing up in the 1970's, Doritos was, for me, one of those iconic brands - and now, as a vintage packaging enthusiast, it's long been a desire to pick up a 1970's era Doritos bag.
This bag was a bonus, as it was the Taco Flavor, one that is especially delicious.
The bag isn't in perfect shape, but I've learned that Doritos bags are some of the toughest to find intact.
The heat seals on this were easy to unseal, and I did, as this bag will be joining my framed packaging collection. "Unwrapped" like this it will make a wonderful display piece.
For scanning purposes I threw a piece of black paper behind the bag, so the white details would be evident.
This comes from the "Munktiki Collection", a large lot of consumer goods packaging saved and stored by Californian Paul Nielsen during the 1970's. A collection I recently purchased and will be documenting here.
