A last minute entry for the WelshFlickrCymru August comp "people".

It was Caitlin's birthday on Thursday.....

UPDATE - I have removed TWO years worth of Flickering from my photostream as a bit of a deep cleansing exercise.... I was feeling brave!

There are a few I have left behind as they had a lot of comments or maybe linked to Group Comps etc, like this one. I'll decide what to do with them at a later date.

Im currently having a Flickr Mid-Life Crisis and due to my fascination with Black & White I have been having a bit of a B&W frenzy with processing some older work and new! I will be uploading these images soon.

A MASSIVE thank you for all of the kind comments and encouragement I have received from my contacts and passers by... Jason

Gateway to The Port!

Gateway to The Port!

Newport SDR Bridge - S.Wales

View On Black

Well, it's been "3" whole months since I last uploaded anything to Flickr...

To cut a very long story short, work has been total chaos, my employers lost our contract and the new outfit are moving the work to another office. We were offered employment there but that meant a 98mile round trip to work everyday :O( So, like many others in 2009 I'll be taking redundancy... but hey, time for a change and onto pastures new I say!

So, last night a friend I work with ( Tim ) fancied a bit of night photography around the Port... Why not I thought!

I have been meaning to capture a night shot of the SDR bridge for a while so that was the first stop! After a few test shots I soon realised that the only way to get a decent image was to get in the centre of the road... It was very narrow with the fast moving lorries almost blowing the tripod over as I couldn't extend the legs very far.

To the left, you can just make out part of the famous Transporter Bridge.

A few people have mailed me over the past few weeks wondering where I had got to, so thanks for thinking of me :O) appreciated.

I should "hopefully" have something very different from my normal work to upload over the weekend as Im off on a little trip tomorrow, dipping my toes into something waaaaay outside of my comfort zone.... Mmm watch this space.

Take care.

Jason

PS - I'll catch-up with everyone's Photostreams over the weekend :O)

OK, where do I start?

Firstly, it's my birthday today and I have reached the big "40"! We went out to Cardiff Bay for a few hours then back for some beer. (I am sipping a Corona as I type!) :O)

Next, where have I been for the past week? (hence no uploads). Well I decided to reframe all of my images (still ongoing) and whilst doing so I realised that in some ways my photography has taken a step backwards!

As much as i've enjoyed the 365 project and met some great people through it (hi Derrick, Sarah), lately I feel that I am just throwing up any old image to make up the numbers!!

So, I am dropping the project to concentrate more on quality images, I aim to improve my processing skills by taking a little longer with the post process.... I will also be removing some of the images that I am not happy with and reorganising my Flickr Sets!

I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone that has supported me so far, I really really appreciate the feedback and the time you have taken to comment on my work, I have met some fantastic fellow flickr'ers :O)

Cheers, Jason..
