Looking Into the Past: Carlyle House, Alexandria, VA
See this scene today.
Nothing about this scene except for the actual Carlyle House is the same. Apparently this view used to be the inside of a courtyard facing the Braddock House Hotel (it's behind the main building). The Hotel is long gone (I'd love some more info on this if anyone has any) but the house remains.
albeit somewhat refurbished. Apparently the interior isn't safe, so no one goes inside upstairs, but Alexandria preserved the exterior.
This looks different than my usual shots because it was really dark, so I had to use flash to illuminate my picture and because I used a very high ISO to make the image.
