Lion Dance "Barongsai"

Lion Dance "Barongsai" by JasonDGreat.
In Indonesia, Lion Dance parades which mark the Chinese New Year are forbidden on the streets since 2000. It can only be carried in specific place. This year, I was lucky enough to watch the Lion Dance performance held at the hotel lobby. Found a funny word for this event used here,... "Barongsai" = Lion Dance in Indonesian language.

I didn't know they call this "Barongsai" in Indonesian. That must be coming from the Chinese/Hokkien "Bu Lang Sai".

I have no idea where this word comes from. I thought Chinese is called wǔshī. Bu Lang Sai? What does that mean? Lion for the rich?

Love the colours - I normally see red, orange, black or yellow lion dance gear but rarely a blue one. Love the details.
