This one to me has more wow factor. I think the HDR enhances and almost blends to what could be conferred as more realistic instead surreal. The texture and dynamic range of this photograph makes it a winner for me.

I like both shots, both are great landscapes, with the defender having a technically perfect long exposure image. it shows a great depth too just like this one, but the sky is not so interesting there.
I prefer this one a bit more, due to the range of colors, more interesting sky and sunlight, and good detail from the fields to the many layers of hills, with the natural look of being away from the cities.

HDR aside, the challenger is a plain landscape snapshot. It may be pretty to look at and have nice colors and such, but it doesn't have anything grand about it to make it stand out. The defender on the other hand used long exposure to show that something was actually happening in the landscape.

Neither photo has really strong colors, however; I think sunsets are supposed to be about really strong colors, and though you have the oranges and greens, they don't jump out at me like i think they should. Though I do wish there were more to the sky in the defenders then just those few stars in the middle left. I will give my vote to the defender cause I like the mt. range more and I have to give credit to the long exposure.

But still good luck, its a good photo.

Although this landscape work looks fine on the eye, I mean that layering of mist and mountains is great! It lacks an anchor for my eye into the scene, after a few seconds I see a "flag" with three stripes.

Defender's has those lights inside the mist that makes my eye wander around the shot from the roand at the lower left into the hills ahead an beyond, skys are dull but the "active" ground balances this fact.

So, I'll go with the defender's

That was pretty exciting. I lost fair and square and had fun while I did it. I wish "Twilight Lights" the best on any future challenges.

I hope these are the natural colors and not postprocessed in, but I think you nailed the exposure, I think it's interesting, and the three badns of different color are unique.

edit: I'll keep the saveme, but watch out for all the noise. doesn't seem like it would have been necessary to have the ISO so high.
