Magilligan Point shells

Magilligan Point shells by Jasmic.
Finding shells at Magilligan Point wasn't difficult. Finding somewhere to walk that wasn't covered in shells sometimes got a bit tricky! We saw loads of Oyster shells, muscels and clams too. A brilliant place to go for a walk.

Thanks!

This really is a snapshot to be honest, I didn't want to get my knees dirty so I held the camera low to the ground but didn't actually look through the view finder or focus screen. I hardly had to straighten it at all though which I was chuffed about.

I can see we both have a love of the natural world. Keep up the nice snapping, it's much appreciated.

Thanks J, :-) If I had laid down my wife would have shouted at me and not let me go in the bar afterwards!

And I adore being out in places like this Village of One. It is when I am at my happiest and I don't do it enough.

Arjun, if you ever make it to NI you must stop off at Magilligan's Point. It isn't that far from one of the main tourist attractions of the area, the Giants Causeway. There is a lot to photograph given how desolate it is, there is a prison just up the road and a military firing range just the other side of the grass on the edge of the beach. Then there is a superb bar and restaurant, The Point Bar. It might be simple but don't let that fool you, the food is great.

A group for bivalves and clams? Sounds good to me! (As long as you do not get upset with people eating them that is... :-)

Upset about eating them? Not at all! I love them, study them, protect and conserve them (I hope), and, well, eat them sometimes too.

That is a relief! It was part in jest, but I didn't want to upset anyone. I am rather proud to say that my 9 year old sons absolute favourite meal is moules mariniere (not all kids like reshaped breaded chicken products you know! :-) He was fascinated when he saw this beach covered in shells.
