My most photoshopped image yet! I took two images from the same position, one exposed for the road, the other for the sky, then cloned them together. (That is real lens flare by the way, not a filter...)
What an awesome shot. I can see me burnin' up
these miles - at a decent rate too.
I love that hint of lens glare, pretty hard
to control and keep a cool shot.
Nice work with the cloning.
What's the go with those clouds on the
right?

The result was an accident trondjs, as I
tried twice to get the photo I wanted and
then gave up, as I was a bit worried about a
car coming without me hearing it (I didn't
have any one with me on point!) And, as
museumofdirt mentioned, and given this is
Germany and a dead straight road, cars do go
at a fair lick along it! Roads here just
don't bend the way they doin the English
countryside... Anyway it was only when I got
home that I had the idea of combining the two
images.
As for the lens glare I couldn't even see
that on the preview as it was so bright!
Another thing I only found when I got home...
The whole sky was absolutely covered with
Jet contrails. All I can think is that there
was little or no wind up there to dissipate
them.

I was about to ask how you managed to keep
the sky so dark and yet not the road too
dark.... two photos is clever though!

A great technique - bringing out the benefits
of HDR without all the hard work.
So many jet trails! Extrapolating into the
future and assuming more and more air travel
- I can hope that skies like this one will be
more common.

Unless something happens very drastically
and quickly I feel that skies like this will
not last many more decades...
I have read about HDR and would like to
have a go, but my Benbo is back in the UK. It
is definitely on my list of things to do...

@Kotofoto, I have seen that group before
but forgot about it! Thanks for the pointer.
@alastairwmb, I am glad you like them! I
certainly enjoy taking them, and it is always
good to get a nod that you are doing the
right thing.
@j.lee - the wierd thing is each image on
its own didn't work that way. It was only
putting them together that gave the image
this feel.

Excellent shot . It was so risky though : )
Wonder why we dont get jet contrails in
our skies in this part of the world. *
