I love your photo and I was hoping you might
be interested in submitting it to our photo
contest helping to win protection for New
Mexico's cleanest waters and wild forests.
I work for an environmental non profit in
Santa Fe, NM (www.wildearthguardians.org) and
as part of our effort to protect New Mexico's
special places from oil and gas, mining,
logging, etc., we've partnered with REI to
sponsor a photo contest.
We're collecting photos like this one, with
provocative captions and testimonials
explaining how you felt, why the photo/place
was important, and why it's worth protecting.
In order to demonstrate broad use and appeal
for protection, we'll be submitting your
photos and captions to the formal hearings
where the fate of New Mexico's cleanest
waters will be decided this January.
It's important that voices beyond special
interests get heard concerning decisions made
on our public lands. This is one creative and
visually compelling way to do that!
So, if you wouldn't mind taking a little
action and saving the world, it would be
great if you would submit this photo (and any
others you or friends might have!) to www.watershedguardians.org. Not only are you helping to protect the
environment, you also have the chance to win
huge prizes from REI (like full camping
outfitting). My contact info is on the web
page if you have any other questions.
Thanks, in advance, for all that you do in
making this world a better place.
Cheers, Rebecca
p.s. there's no limit to how many photos you
can submit :)
