The Promises of Springtime

    ****better on black****

A shot I’ve been wanting for a while, but every time I went to the city, something about it wasn’t right. Finally I got something I could live with, so I cooked it up. Still toying with new editing techniques. My goal is to get better and cleaner, but also continue to be efficient. Work in progress for sure. Thank goodness for actions! Anyway, had to prink down the red/pink/magenta just a hair, as it was a little too much for my sensor to chew on. Hope you like. Cheers.

Awesome. I have a similar composition at sunrise. Such a cool spot. Love the conditions you got here. The pink clouds are terrific, and contrast very nicely with the cyans throughout the image. If you don't mind criticism, the image would benefit greatly from a bit of perspective correction. :)

Nice......real nice. A shot that I want, but I'll just enjoy this until I see this place for myself. Nice work Jared.

yeah, I had two tripod legs over the railing onto something below and one leg through the railing which I stood on to make sure the whole git up didn't go swimming

Man...This is another reason why I always love visiting your stream. You're definitely one of the standouts on Flickr for me. Always jawdropped by your work.

The pink clouds really make this for me. I think I've gotta head over to SF and do some shooting with you sometime. haha.

      Brilliant shot mate!

That's real nice, Jared, yesterday's sunset was pretty impressive and you got some great light in the city. Very nice leading lines and touch of pink on the water, keep up the great work.

For me the best part of this image is the nice reflected pink tones in the water.

    35. Robin Black Photography (26 months ago | reply)

Josh beat me to it--LOVE the pink reflections on the water. This is such a great spot, and I love seeing it at different times of day (instead of always the same night shot that everybody gets). Nice color and exposure.

    36. Clay Carey (26 months ago | reply)

Wow, beautiful. Most of the time people use this comp for night shots but this is pretty spectacular too! Love how the water has picked up the hues of the sky there.

Those old pilings always look like computer component connection pins to me.

Loving those tones! I've been eyeing that spot for a while since I typically take a lunchtime stroll down there.

I gave what you said some thought. I'd like someone (read you) to shoot a computer motherboard like someone would shoot New York from a tall skyscraper.

I really like the color tones to your shot. The pinks and cool blues really compliment each other real well. I also like the detail in the water espcially the reflection from the pink clouds and the post.
