I simply typed my surname into the search
section to see what would turn up. I was
curious to see would my photos be there. Not
too many Behans on Flicker as it turns out,
but I was happy to see your shots and thought
it would be nice to post a well deserved
complimentary comment. Behan is not an
uncommon surname in Kildare where I live but
outside of there it,s rare enough, apparently
there are other pockets of Behans in Wicklow
and Kerry. Are there many in Canada?
Interestingly the name has its origins in the
Irish word for "bee"
/"beekeeper". You probably knew
that already
Interesting. There are, it seems, quite a few
Behan's in Canada and the United States. A
few years ago, some of my family members
joined a Facebook group called The Behan Clan, and it appears we're all over the globe! As well, there is a large population of
Behan's - that are all related - just in my
hometown of Powell River, British Columbia.
(And I didn't know the name came from the
word bee!)
