Green Tea Cupcakes

    Newer Older

I baked green tea cupcakes today! Aren't they beautiful! They are sooo good!

I used Magnolia Bakery's vanilla cupcake recipe (I halved the recipe so that I'd just get 12 cupcakes, but I actually ended up with 13) and added 1.5 tablespoons of green tea powder.
I used Chockylit's green tea cream cheese frosting, which I also halved, but added the full tablespoon of green tea powder.

I just wanted to ask, when did you add in the matcha powder for the cupcakes? In with the flour?
I can't wait til I find an excuse to make these :)

I made these awhile back! :) I think I messed up somewhere, though, cause they came out kind of cornbready and not sweet. They were super green though! Maybe I'll try again soon...

moonlightbulb, once while making a batch of cupcakes I had forgotten to put in the sugar (doh!) and the cupcakes came out more like a cornbready muffin... maybe you forgot the sugar, or didn't put in enough? Definitely try again sometime, I hope they'll work out for you! :)
