Cub Scout Reflects On The Loss Of His Uncle In Iraq

Last night I was honored to speak before a local Cub Scout Pack on the subject of photography.

When I arrived at the Cub Scout Pack meeting the boys were busy creating Holiday Season greeting cards for soldiers recovering from their wounds at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Most of the boys wrote messages of appreciati...on. This one boy, however, included a drawing with his card. (see picture below.)

"What are you drawing?" I asked him.

"It's an M1 Abrams that's been destroyed by an IED," he responded. "An IED is an Improvised Explosive Device. My uncle was killed by an IED that destroyed his tank in Iraq."Read More
