The digestives look out of place. Are they assuming you will need things to help your digestion after the main meal? The hedgerow jelly sounds interesting. . . did they tell you what was in it?

I think "digestive" is a little misleading (depending on what you expect from one, I suppose). Just biscuity things to act as a substrate for the cheese and jelly, the latter of which I didn't find out the ingredients.

If this is Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's place, I expect the Hedgerow jelly would be fruits of the season. How was the food?

This is HFW's joint, so fruits in season would be a good estimation, but I've no idea what's big in hedgerows at the moment. All the usual suspects in the berry department, I suppose. Late summer/autumn is their moment.

The food was a little rustic, but overall excellent. The fish soup stood out particularly.
