Photographs from a five minute radius of my apartment. Glasgow is the only British city I have ever lived in where residents are encouraged to dump *any* outsized domestic waste on the kerbside for colleciton on designated days. Everything gets crushed by a rubbish truck and sent to landfill.

Hi, I'm an admin for a brand new group called The View from Airstrip One.
We're inspired by movies such as '1984' and 'V for Vendetta' and we're collecting images that chronicle the UK's dystopian present.
Your image exactly captures this mood, and we'd love to have it added to the group! And please consider joining our group - we'd love to have you as a regular contributor!

Glasgows a hole... has been for a long time. Though I have to say Londons not much better; we drove passed a row of very old, nice looking huge town-houses with a row of trees outside on the pavement. Yet 7ft of bin-bags stacked around the trees for collection... The Far North/South divide only seems to be the content of the bin-bag.
