door to nowhere

door to nowhere by jamelah.
I find these doors all the time, doors that are too far off of the ground to get into without stairs, doors without leading steps. There's nothing worse than a purposeless door.

I've photographed the walls of this building twice at least. It's a former meat locker that will soon enough be turned into a parking lot.

they put a parking lot on the piece of land
where the former meat locker used to stand ...

I like these doors ... I find them fascinating. And the blue is great.

Oh, Jams. You know how I feel about a nice mournful door - insta-fave in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ...

And lovely colors.

No doubt there were stairs at one time, but who cares, it's more fun this way. So glad you've recorded this. It's wonderful.

Thanks so much, everyone! I've walked past this door hundreds of times (this building is right behind my office building), but never before thought of photographing it. So glad it worked out.

(And Brittney -- you're right. "Intriguing" is a much better way of saying it.)

Beautiful photo. Maybe the door is placed that high for loading purposes? (I don't know how high it is...)

I love finding buildings like this as well. I would almost rather see them like this than redone and fixed. Great tones, lovely shot.
