storm factory

storm factory by Joel Bedford.
Taken from the car en route from Toronto to Ottawa...There was a wicked storm brewing that never really came to fruition.

Great light and tones... there is something illustrative about this. I like how that one spire appears to puncture that lone bright cloud. I also like how that orangey-beige patch of grass compliments the smoke drifting to the left from the lower spire.

I love the tone. I can't decide wether a tornado is coming or some kind of horrible David Lynchian weirdness. Fantastic.

I like the surreal and dark mood,
also the Victorian feel to it, which makes the image all the more interesting because this is obviously a modern day industrial scene and not 19th century Wuthering Heights

the weird light definitely qualifies this for the 'dreams' group, though perhaps 'nightmares' might be closer!

Superb! The combination of photographic detail with thee renaissance painting palette makes this aboth beautiful and extremely unsettling. This should be seen HUGE I'm sure to get the full effect...

A sombre vision of the world we are creating around us- it has a kind of oppressive beauty.
