One Less Starbucks

A Starbucks and Taco Del Mar on Broadway exploded at 2:30 this morning. The blast shook my building six blocks away. At this time, it appears that there was a gas leak in the Taco Del Mar and the fire dept. is calling it 'suspicious'.

Update: Fire officials are now confirming that it was arson.

I live less than four blocks away. There are glass doors and windows blown to smithereens on Heather Street which is amazing as that's down and around the corner ... a giant shock wave must have gone internally through the adjacent buildings.

Steve - Oh trust me, the police lines were up. It took a lot of extra walking to get to this spot.

Cheryl - I seem to have scooped everyone. News 1130 had it on their website about 20 minutes after I posted these shots. I have found it interesting in the past that in the case of many news stories, chances are someone on Flickr has uploaded some pictures.

Christina - I'm sure one of the reasons I heard it was that I sleep with my window open a bit.

Michael - ...keeping your theory alive. :)

Realawworld - I thought about it earlier, but there are a few hoops to jump through. I'm not fond of hoops. :)
