Kiyomizu-zaka
Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka, located at the foot of the Higashiyama mountains, are surrounded by some of Kyoto's most famous sights, including Kiyomizu - dera Temple, Kodai - ji Temple and Yasaka - jinja Shrine. There are many Kyotoesque shops in this area of town. The old house of Yumeji Takehisa is also located here. The area is also known as "Nene-no-saka" after Kita-no-Mandokoro, the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
