Thunder Moon

Thunder Moon by jah~.
The Full Buck Moon - July

July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time. Another name for this month's Moon was the Full Hay Moon.

Sneaking this one in to see if anyone is still watching. Thanks in advance for any comments, and it's back to the long hot days of summer and next to no Flickr'ing...

Yes, I'm still watching & it's a stunning capture, so well prepared to get the lightning, are you back?,

4 seconds & low ISO, how did you know when to shot the scene thought?

Thanks much for all the great comments, this was a fun one to download off the cam.

Joshua, you have a pretty sharp eye, there is only one house light at the far left. The mass of lights in the center is Denver, so I guess those count. I thought it made for more interest as yet another light source...

Thank you kindly ashenzil, mpd, faria and Mr Geoff!

mpd: I did try a composite here: www.flickr.com/photos/jahdakinebrah/187418131 /
but not in the sense of stitching unrelated skies, just seconds apart exposures. My HDR leaves a lot to be desired ;-)

faria: yeah, usually these 2 gods guard the skies against each other as they are jealous I think. They had a weak moment ;-)

Excellent moody image mate - a cracking image on many levels.

I really like the play of light across the scene - the lighting on one side and the sun on the other.

Really well seen and captured
