A Bottle-nosed Whale in London Town

A Bottle-nosed Whale in London Town by Mr Jaded.
I know this isn't a great photo, but it's not every day that you see a whale in the centre of London...

Any chance you'd consider uploading to the Wikimedia Commons, so that it can be used in Wikipedia/Wikinews articles?

Alternatively, if you don't want to completely open-source your photo, but just release it under a Creative Commons BY or BY-SA license, then Wikinews would still be able to use it...

@Frankie
It has a Attribute-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license so it should be fine for Wikipedia to use it - let me know if not and I'll change it.

Hi Mr Jaded,

Wikipedia and Wikinews aren't compatible with the NonCommercial bit of the license as I understand it. Even though they don't have adverts, they allow some external parties to have commercial access to the data (eg Google and Answers.com) in order to help fund the service.

I've taken your comment above as implicit permission for us to use it for the time being, and have uploaded it here for use in this article.

Hope that's okay - please confirm that you're happy for it to be released under a Attribution-NonCommercial license. If not let me know and I'll remove the photo.

Thanks - and what a great photo!

Hoping to use it on the front page of Wikinews!
