Jaclyn Michele
Pages Four and Five
This spread actually began with the intention of using a play on a phrase often directed toward Helen of Troy. After I completed her hair I knew I had to create ravens flying from the wispy ends of her hair and then the verse from Edgar Allen Poe floated into my head. I couldn't ignore it and so I stamped it out on strands of tissue paper, glued it to the page and there you have it. I am very pleased with the outcome and wish it had been created on canvas instead. Apologies for the crap photograph of the pages, it really does draw the life out of them. The true colors and brightness are better represented here.
Materials: Acrylic paint, gesso, old book pages, newspaper, aluminum foil, ink, paper, stickers, tissue paper, water color pencils, chalk, shimmer dust.
Explored. ♥
