This is a lovely Bird Of Paradise flower from my wife. It is very surprising in a couple of ways.

It isn't real. That isn't too uncommon. It is also 1/12 scale - a dollhouse miniature. And it was handmade by my wife.

I was pleased to see that my Christmas Cactus was once again coming into blown. It does this at least three times per year. But this time there was a bit of a surprise in my lens! Actually, this particular lizard was a gift. It is a wooden sculpture from Panama.

A priceless treasure! I found some of my old notebooks. My son was a terrific help and was more than willing to add a few comments of his own to help me better understand things. He was really into it on this particular day. If you look closely, you can see some of my own work. Now you know why I decided to get into photography instead.
