Golden Gate

Charles Sheeler - Golden Gate - 1955 - oil on canvas. - During a visit to San Francisco, Sheeler took a number of photographs as studies for him paintings. This unusual view of the Garden Gate Bridge, painted a few months after he returned cast, resulted from superimposing a number of those 35-millimeter slides.
