Rules of the road

Step 1: Move to Japan, learn how to drive on the left side of the road.
Step 2: Fly back to Taiwan for Chinese New Year, and re-learn driving on the right.
Step 3: Return to Japan. Re-learn left driving.
Step 4: Move back to Taiwan and again, re-re-learn how to drive on the right.

...My head hurts!!

I just put a paper-arrow in front of me on the dashboard so I remember what side of the street to drive on. Works great if you're out and about before you've had your morning coffee.

Good thing I never dare leaving the house before my morning cup...

My problems, however, don't lie so much with what side of the road to drive on as much as accidentally turning on the wipers every time I take a turn.... I gather it's not the same in other right-drive countries, like New Zealand or England, but in Japan the turn signals are on the right and the wipers on the left.

It's frustrating as hell!

hah, that reminds me of how dave kept turning on the windshield wipers in my car when he wanted to put it into gear. the funny part is that his truck has a standard transmission with the shifter on the floor. he must have picked up the habit of reaching for the steering column when he's in an unfamiliar vehicle from driving kiewit trucks.
