Exploding dinner
Last night, I made us enchiladas for dinner. These were my best attempt ever, filled with black olives, extra sharp cheddar cheese, and a blend of chili and garlic powder. I topped them with more olives, jalapenos, the powder blend, cheese, and sauce. These enchiladas were a labor of love. We sat down to eat dinner in the living room, leaving the tray on the stovetop. I decided to boil some water for tea. When I did that, I turned on the wrong burner. Yes, I turned on the burner under the pan. A little while later we heard a terrible crash in the kitchen. I thought the cats had knocked over some beads. Nope. The remainder of the enchiladas exploded all over the kitchen, resulting in glass shards and enchiladas bits everywhere. This made me so sad. I am a disaster sometimes.

One time I was trying to make chicken and bisquits in a crock pot, and after what I thought was long enough, almost nothing had happened, so I decided to take the crock out and heat it on the stove top, thinking, hey, it's just a ceramic pot, right?
Of course, that's wrong, and in no time at all, it *cracked in half* and boiling, chicken-infused milk FLOODED the stove top and started running down into the oven and onto the floor. I didn't have paper towels to clean it up, so I had to use regular towels, resulting in every towel I owned being soaked in oily milk.
For some reason, this is the second time I've told this story in two days.... :) Don't worry, you're no more a disaster than everyone else!! XOXO
